Daniel Hutchings

Daniel Hutchings artist with Wychwood Art. in Daniel Hutchings enjoys painting all genres but especially loves to paint the ocean. His works depict clear sparkling water and blue skies “in a way that makes you want to dive into the painting and experience it for yourself”. Based in the lovely market town of Saffron Walden, in the northwest corner of Essex bordering Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, Daniel’s works from his large art studio - a converted barn on a working farm. His green countryside surroundings are a far cry from the vast sandy beaches of the east coast of Australia where he spent his childhood years. It was during this time spent surfing Australia’s beaches that Daniel developed an affinity with the ocean. Daniel’s deep understanding and love of water comes across clearly in his paintings, which show such a strong understanding of the ocean. Born in Sydney Australia in 1962, Daniel’s abilities as an artist shaped his career choices and he has been a professional artist and art teacher since 2000. He has travelled to many of the world’s most beautiful coastal destinations and has had solo exhibitions in Australia, Switzerland, and the UK. He has won numerous awards for his paintings and his work is held in private collections worldwide. He uses traditional archival oil paints and mediums to create his stunning artworks.
