Floral Art for your Bathroom

Flowers have always inspired and delighted us, from Claude Monet’s Impressionist Water Lilies to Gustav Klimt’s Art Nouveau Sunflower, floral art is a lasting source of enjoyment. In this article I will discuss what to look for when buying floral paintings and prints for your bathroom. You should love the art in your home and this applies to all budgets, we show works at a range of price points with plenty of art under £100 available for you to look at.

The bathroom is always a trickier space when it comes to hanging works, mainly because of the moisture that can accumulate and damage pieces. For this reason, we tend to recommend original works or works that aren’t on paper. If you’re bathroom is not too damp it's fine to have a work on paper as long as it is framed well and you check it every six to twelve months. We love this Charlie Davies limited edition print, it would look chic next to your sink, the blue palette is dainty and makes for a pretty flower print for your bathroom.

Adam Bartlett’s abstract geometric floral painting Aerotropic is also a good option for a bathroom. Bartlett paints on glass and the lively colours are guaranteed to give you an optimistic start to the day!

If you’re looking to make a splash then an Allan Forsyth work, such as Aqua Flora No 6 is great. The work is photorealist yet the flowers are still abstracted by the water. As the work is printed onto aluminium and disc framed it can be hung cleanly on the wall without a traditional picture frame. A large work such as this looks brilliant hung above your bath.

If you prefer more of an Impressionist style, Nicky Chubb’s smaller works look lovely hung as a triptych vertically in a long space in your bathroom or horizontally above your bath. Some of Nicky’s works are coated in resin giving it an extra protection from the moisture, an aspect that helps navigate around the difficulties of buying art for your bathroom.
