Shetland - Foula - Sheep and Bonxie
£245.00 Original Painting | 15cm x 14cm
Foula is one of the outermost Shetland Islands 20 miles west of mainland Shetland. It's one of the most remote inhabited islands in GB with about 38 inhabitants - and hard to get there. There were no flights while we were there and we went over in a small boat with the access officer for Shetland who went to inspect work going on to repair a footbridge following floods. Bonxie is the local name for the Great Skua birds which nest here. The sheep are Shetland.
I had a wonderful day walking the coast while the mist lifted.
The painting is mixed media with collaged papers as a base, acrylic and pastels.
This painting is framed in a simple white wooden frame.
The size given is for the actual painting. The framed size is: H34 x W34cm
