Please join us in Stow-on-the Wold for the exhibition of Richard Whadcock’s atmospheric paintings. Richard Whadcock is a contemporary artist specialising in atmospheric landscape paintings. His works take inspiration from the South Downs and East Sussex coast.
Richard captures the ever changing dramatic atmosphere from silent stillness to squally days. The South Downs are only a starting point as the paintings themselves eventually take over and follow their own path creating their unique surface landscape.
Studying Fine Art at Bristol Polytechnic from 1986-1989 where his work crossed between painting and printmaking. He then went on to study for his MA at the Royal College of Art specialising in printmaking. Since graduating been a full time artist gaining artist residencies and showing at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition as he did last year in 2015.
Richard has had numerous solo exhibitions and has been collected nationally and internationally.
