About this work of Art
Dry Stone Wall by Laura Boswell artist.
The dry stone wall is a ruin, but still maps the edge of a boundary in the foreground of the scene, dividing the viewer from the winter landscape. The print plays on the contrast between the wild remoteness of the landscape and the temporary nature of a man-made boundary.
Dry Stone Wall is a linocut print, hand cut from a single block of lino. The block is cut each time colour is printed, resulting in the block’s gradual destruction as the image emerges. It is printed on 280g BFK Rives paper. The print size is 67 x 30cm. The print is dated 2018 and is one of a limited edition of 12. The print is numbered and signed in pencil and is sold unframed.
