I took the original photo for this oil painting using the pano setting on an iPhone. This created some distortion which I have emphasised further with the sweep of the harbour. I loved how the mooring lines for the boats then dissected this sweeping motion.

This is a Giclee print on paper with an acid free mount. The size is the finished mounted size.

I am drawn to expressing places I have visited where the light and colour interact to provide beauty – wide expansive skies, the hues of nature, reflections in water, textures and layers. I love how colour can be built up and blended from its constituents. I often start with acrylics working on a very wet canvas to provide the under layer and then work on top with oils, which enables me to create the depth and levels of colour, constantly blending and mixing the paint to produce the hue and texture needed.
