Kerry Day Pebbles Limited edition screen print on Somerset Paper Sheet Size: H 20cm x W 15cm Titled and signed by the artist Pebbles is an limited edition screen print by Kerry Day. This piece is a vibrant part of Kerry’s series of prints focussing on succulent plants. Originally from London, I trained as a ceramicist at Bath Spa University and now live and work in Bristol. I completed an MA in Multi Disciplinary Printmaking at the University of the West of England in 2011 and am now based in my studio at Hamilton House, Bristol. My current body of work is about the plants that I share my home and studio with. I am drawn to their architectural shapes and contours. The wide range of leaf colour and pattern in these cacti, succulents and leafy plants allow me to develop layers of texture and tone within the forms. I use a mixture of reduction lino print and mono print (using the rollers like paint brushes) to produce variable edition prints. I sometimes etch into the lino with caustic soda to create more brush like marks making each picture unique.
