Lantern Glow is a limited edition oriental print by Alexandra Buckle. This piece is a reduction linocut of a glowing lantern in Tokyo, Japan. The text says Kumano Shrine which is a type of Shinto Shrine. This is one of a small edition of 14 prints, all of which are printed by hand so small variations occur between them making each one truly original.

Works by Alexandra Buckle are available online and in the gallery. Alexandra has been a full time professional printmaker since 2012, she works from her own home printmaking studio in Bicester. Inspired by countryside walks and the changes in weather and season upon the landscape, she enjoys capturing her favourite scenery as hand printed reduction linocuts. Reduction linocuts are multi-layered relief prints where every layer is cut and printed from the same block of lino, destroying the block as you progress. Alexandra’s work is impressionistic in style; it is colourful, full of light, depth and detail. Themes include woodlands and trees, water and reflections, and flowers and fields.
