Alexandra Buckle A reduction linocut of lily pads floating on a pond. The inspiration for this print came from the Botanic Gardens in Oxford and a life long love of Monet’s water lilies.
This is the first in a range of Botanic Garden inspired work.
A reduction lino print is formed with layers of colour that are cut and printed from the same block. This is one of a small edition of 12 prints, all of which are printed by hand so small variations occur between them making each one truly original.
This work is printed with water-based, light-fast inks on Somerset Satin paper and has a beautiful matt finish. The printed area is 30 x 20cm. It is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom, mounted in a neutral colour and wrapped in cellophane to keep it clean. The mounted work will fit straight into a standard off-the-shelf 16 x 12 inch frame.
