New Leaves and Bluebells

A very large reduction linocut of a woodlands with a carpet bluebells in the spring. This is printed in seven layers of colour and is a small edition of 8 prints, all of which are printed by hand so small variations occur between them making each one truly original.

This work is printed with water-based, light-fast inks on Somerset Satin paper and has a beautiful matt finish. The printed area is 60 x 40cm. Each print is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom. This artwork is not mounted or framed.

Inspired by countryside walks and the changes in weather and season upon the landscape, she enjoys capturing her favourite scenery as hand printed reduction linocuts. Reduction linocuts are multi-layered relief prints where every layer is cut and printed from the same block of lino, destroying the block as you progress. Alexandra's work is impressionistic in style; it is colourful, full of light, depth and detail. Themes include woodlands and trees, water and reflections, and flowers and fields.
