  • About this work of Art

    Rosemary Farrer.

Pecking Order is a hand printed etching finished with watercolour. When you watch chickens being fed you do become aware that there is an etiquette around who goes first. Get this wrong and you could get pecked! They are keen to eat but watching each other quite carefully. I did lots of drawings of this flock of chickens, they had wonderful markings and textures and some of the cockerels had fantastic tail feathers. This print is printed as an edition of 100 and is unframed.

Rosemary Farrer is an artist printmaker who trained in Fine Art at Camberwell School of Art and the Ruskin School of Drawing. She uses various techniques including etching, aquatint, lino and woodblocks and enjoys using the special qualities of these different methods, whether it be the graphic, dynamic marks of a linocut, or the subtle tones and textures achievable in an aquatint. Her woodblock print ‘Track’ was exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition this year and sold out at the Private View.
