  • About this work of Art

    Michael Atkin.

    The gardener’s wife.
The enclosed garden area was viewed from an upstairs window at a nearby stately home. The lady in a red mack brought out a cup of tea to a gardener who looked like the head man. The visitors like ‘giddy goats’ peered everywhere, a family ate their picnic. I’ve placed the gardeners wife midway through the pictures and spot coloured her red, least we forget her and also to draw ones attention to her.
Hand printed etching and aquatint on hand made paper in a limited edition of 30 + 3 artist’s proofs.
