About this work of Art
Winter Hares is a lino cut, again using the amazing possibilities for texture that the medium lends itself to. I enjoyed cutting the sky and making the dark shapes of the hares against a snowy background. I like the tentative greeting between the hares. This print is part of an edition of 30 on cream paper and is unframed.
Rosemary Farrer is an artist printmaker who trained in Fine Art at Camberwell School of Art and the Ruskin School of Drawing. She uses various techniques including etching, aquatint, lino and woodblocks and enjoys using the special qualities of these different methods, whether it be the graphic, dynamic marks of a linocut, or the subtle tones and textures achievable in an aquatint. Her woodblock print ‘Track’ was exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition this year and sold out at the Private View.
