Early Spring Light is an original landscape painting inspired by the Oxfordshire countryside where the artist lives. This painting is full of textures enhanced by the vibrant colours of the paint. Grains of sand give texture to the sky and the artist has applied texture paste to the foreground to give a three-dimensional element and perspective. A simple composition doesn’t distract from the fluid paint markings that have been encouraged to drip down creating the interesting effects in the field making this a truly bespoke little piece of art. This original artwork is set in a pure white mount subtly signed bottom right and titled on the left. Ready for your own choice of frame.

I love to create paintings inspired by the stunning Oxfordshire countryside where I live and seascapes from my travels. These are usually enhanced by my vivid imagination. Following A Level I continued to study art at Banbury in Oxfordshire and finally a degree at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design in Farnham, totalling six years of art training and many, many more years experimenting. I enjoy the experimental approach of trying out different mediums including ink, acrylic, oil and watercolour. The application of the paint is an exciting experience for me creating interesting marks such as splashes, dripping, masking, dry brushing and palette knife effects. Working in a spontaneous manner, I relish in the excitement of the unpredictable nature of the media I combine. In fact ‘happy accidents’ are a fundamental part of my practise and lead to each piece having its own individuality.
