She graduated with a Masters Degree in Fine Art and pursued a career as a specialist painter for 15 years. Lou dedicates her time to her young family and her passion for painting. Her paintings are an emotional response to the ever-changing light and colour that emerges from the landscape. To capture its sense of mood and place, Lou Dunipace paints directly from her subject. She works in oil en plein air, chasing the light. Her inspiration stems from the highlands of Scotland through to the rugged Cornish coastline, and more recently the souks of Marrakesh. Some of Lou’s paintings will be taken further in her studio, where she builds up from subtle oil glazes to strong impasto marks, producing powerful semi-abstract pieces.
