Dazzle is an Original Painting by Rosemary Farrer. I begin by spending a lot of time drawing, outside in the case of landscapes, absorbing the atmosphere of a place, studying the forms and really understanding how the light falls. Back in the studio I will start to build up layers of transparent colours in a fairly abstract way, before starting to resolve the image with more opaque paint. This painting was inspired by bright sunlight filtering through trees in autumn.
Rosemary paints in acrylics and oils and also makes original prints. Her most recent work is a group of landscapes celebrating colour and light. I love my daily walks and the beauty of the natural world. Its exciting to see something amazing, then have the challenge to create, not a literal copy, but the feeling that it inspired, the buzz.
