Push is a purely abstract painting . It is trying to convey the sense of the conflicting energies between positive and negative . The strength of the dark shape on the right is both seductive and repellent , this in turn creates the flame or current of the vertical stripes to the left of the painting . The energy in the oasinting can be left to the spectator to determine a more personal response
