‘Grids of Communication’
I have used the format of a circuit board to lay a web of detail in the foreground of this painting. I was always fascinated when watching my father repair them, adding solder and joining wires. A magic trick that made images flow from a screen or music escape from a box. I am interested in the phenomenon that is technology, it’s nuances evade me, but I am aware of an invisible world of communication that sit in timeless landscapes.
I have worked on a wood panel with 5cm sides, so that it can be hung as it is. Using water-soluble graphite, rust patina, acrylic, variegated metal leaf, varnish.
