Amedeo Cianci artist with Wychwood Art. “My pictorial experience comes from the deep love for the beauty of my land: for its colours, its scents, for the sea, the lights and shadows in stark contrast. The landscape is the focal point of my artistic consciousness: my first works, characterised by sunny urban landscapes, courtyard houses and flowered balconies, were mostly done with watercolour. This technique allowed me to experiment with some solutions such as wet-on-wet in which the seemingly uncontrollable colour pigments represent the natural and indispensable visual harmony of the Salento landscape. Another element that animated my work for a long time was the flowery landscape: wheat fields, olive groves in bloom, and sea views where the observer becomes part of the landscape itself. For this reason, the landscape is an essential element of my work, the sign of my continuous research precisely in the mutability of the natural element.
