Headland #21 – The mouth of the river.
The view to the headland from the beach, with the estuary winding its way toward the outlet, is such a sensual scene. The red rock and mud stand out against the shore-spit, and the pines provide the crown. This headland near Exmouth in the South West of the Country, has been the subject of a number of my paintings, both impressionistic like this one, and more abstracted.
