In ‘Listening to the music of bees’ Lee Tiller has used a palette of colour, ranging from dusky violets to euphoric golds and lustrous greens. He paints in the same tradition as the original impressionists, painting directly from nature and with an immediacy that creates a real sense of place. Hidden with the brushstrokes are myriad colours that often surprise and confound, yet viewed as a whole, form a harmonious effect similar to musical expression.
Having developed a reputation for painting the effects of light, Lee’s work has often been mentioned alongside the works of the original French Impressionists, employing broken colour to create beautiful chromatic harmonies. Like Monet and Pisarro, Tiller reveals as much with colour within the shadows as you would expect to find in the full radiance of reflected sunlight.
‘Listening to the music of bees’ is quite a large oil on canvas landscape painting at 36″ x 28″ (71cm x 92cm) and will make a fine centre piece for any room. It is currently supplied unframed. Please enquire about our framing service.
