Five Towers is an original landscape painting by Paloma RIPOLLÉS. This picture is a landscape from the South os Madrid. The sky is so clear because during the pandemia there was no contamination. The colours of Spring this year have been beautiful on the country side. The feeling there were no humans around was strange and made me feel close in touch with nature. Feeling intense happiness and freedom.

Paloma Ripollés, artist, is available for sale online and in our art gallery at Wychwood Art. I studied Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid, specialising in art restoration. As soon as I finished my university studies I decided to go to Italy, Florence, to take a Masters degree at the International Art University, where I graduated as an Art Critic and Technician in Museum and Gallery Management. I have worked in the Reina Sofía Museum of Contemporary Art and in different Cultural Foundations in Madrid. I have collaborated in several Art magazines as a critic and have actively collaborated as an expert in numerous art restorations. From my early childhood it was clear to me that my vocation was to paint. I won my first national painting award at the age of 7. Since the innocent days and after 35 years as a professional artist, I have had the opportunity to exhibit my work in some of the most prestigious Spanish galleries; and in Europe, Latin America and the United States. I am always searching for ways to develop as an artist. I have collaborated and participated in numerous Art workshops and received scholarships from different institutions. Always learning, I have worked over the years with some of Spain’s leading artists in their workshops. The fundamental pillar of my painting is Colour. With colour and through its essential plasticity, I create space and vibration transforming my paintings into a unique viewing experience. The use of complementary colours and the absence of black are one of my signature trademarks. My love for the spatula as a painting technique adds important texture to the overall delivery of impression and colour layering that transpires throughout my work. The paintings are not realistic, they are naturalistic: an interpretation of nature that through my own inner journey transforms into the particular vision that creates my style. My work can be framed as Fauvian impressionism.
