‘Misty Seascape’ is an original painting by Roberta Tetzner. Need a peaceful place to escape to? A place to feel calm? Remember a wonderful day by the sea …maybe a holiday? Relaxing and enjoying the beauty of the water. The sea and sea mist with its assortment of colours, textures and shapes was the inspiration for this painting. A beautiful meditation, radiating calm.
The purpose of my work is for you to feel immersed in this calm, positivity and wonder of our environment.
This piece is full of blues and other colours to lift the spirits. It has a range of marks, to give it variety, individuality and a sense of calm and joy. This is a deep edged canvas of 3.5 cm. The canvas edges are painted white and the painting has been varnished to protect it from dust.
My aim is to create works of art that allow personal interpretation and that through their imagery highlight and represent some of the beauty of the landscape and our experiences within it. My surroundings (South Oxfordshire at present) and travels are the starting point for most of my work and I draw from both the macro and the micro images of the landscape: the map-like, large-scale images of a particular piece of water or land, through to the detailed images of a garden layout or a particular plant. My travels, own garden as well as the Thames, have recently greatly influenced my work. The influence of colour on emotion and mood also plays a strong role in my painting. Roberta Tetzner works in the UK using her surroundings and travels as inspiration for her art. With an MA Degree, she has taught Art and Design at college level for many years, and has exhibited at various exhibitions both in the UK and abroad. Her work can be found in collections in the UK, USA, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and Spain.
