Rosie Phipps
Water colour, Gouache, Pastel
40 cm x 23 cm
£250

Pass into the landscape looking first into the far distance, and then taking one’s gaze to the middle distance, then the near distance and back again to where the horizon of golden locks of straw meet the sky.

Rosie Phipps has been painting since she was a young girl. She matriculated in Art and Art History. Teachers included Mrs Bullock (Auckland Park School), Miss Harmson and Miss Waldie (Parktown Girls High School) in Johannesburg South Africa where she was brought up. Rosie has lived in England since 1969 and has been living in Oxford from 1977.

Friend and sculptor John Buckley has provided much encouragement and guidance.
Rosie’s paintings are reflections on life – childbirth, motherhood, fatherhood, relationships, meditation, spirituality, nature, sexuality and dying. The pictures reflect the temporal and the spiritual. The archetypal structure of psyche and the images it provides as we move through life, its seasons and its celebrations.
Rosie is the founder of Oxford Professional Education Group and a Founder of OxfordLearning Lab. She has also written a number of books on marketing and business start-ups and travel guides.Rosie is a member of Oxford Art Society and LiterArties.
