"After graduating with a BA Hons degree in Art from Manchester Metropolitan University I became an artist and a sculptor, and then a Landscape Painter at the Phoenix Brighton Arts Studios.  Whilst also working in the arts industry on projects such as the large scale sculpture works of Anish Kapoor and Anslem Kiefer I developed a fascination of sculpted form and shape which reflects in my use of space, form and surface." "I am inspired by the drama of painting outside in the changeable conditions of the British landscapes. In particular, the quick decisions needed to tackle the transitory skyscapes with their sheer light effects and how these illuminate the glacially sculpted horizons and contours of the South Downs. I work with colour moods and restricted colour palettes for enough ambiguity to partly disguise the weather, season and temperature for the viewer to interpret; using striations and thickly defined brush marks develop surface tensions in order to build a duality between the painting’s surface and the overall image. " "I have been selected for the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize 2016′, has exhibited at the ‘Discerning Eye Exhibition 2015’, reached final judging of the Lynn Painter-Stainers in 2015 and have been pre-selected for the RBA Open, 2016.  I have been featured in Saatchi ‘Art artists to look at – Invest in Art, October 2015’ and have recently been invited to be featured in Saatchi Art’s ‘Artist of the Day’. In 2015, I donated a work to the ‘Big Heart Auction’ at the Brighton Dome, have exhibited across the South including Brighton, Hove, Lewes, and London."
