Originally from Africa, these ring-necked beauties are the only naturalised parrot in the UK. Here, a small flock play on a bountiful orange tree, which is inspired by the fruit trees in the orangery at Saltram House in Plymouth. Like parrots, parakeets are great mimics. In their honour, I’ve mimicked this colourful piece and it is also available in gold.
This is an etching, printed onto Somerset Velvet paper and then hand coloured with watercolours after the print has dried.
This original print is a one-of-a-kind piece, a maximum of 5 originals, all coloured completely differently to make them absolutely unique, will be taken from this plate, before it is archived or destroyed.
