The Starling Murmuration is a subject I come back to every autumn. I am fascinated in the way the starlings fly and create the most unpredictable pulsation and shapes in the sky. The murmuration has inspired me to create my own murmuration of marks in paint on paper. I begin to paint and the shapes and pulsations begin to take shape. These pictures can either be purchased separately or as a group for example three or six creating you own murmuration in your own space. The pictures colours are purple and orange, painted with acrylic paint on quality paper. Signature on back of artwork.

Artwork by artist Leigh Glover available for sale online and in our gallery at Wychwood Art. The artist comments 'I love painting, the time flies and the mind soars with ideas. I am always on the lookout to experience something new that I could communicate to my canvas. Paintings do not flow every day which is why I have been a gardener for many years. Being out in all weathers and seeing the play of light helps me to experience new insights, feelings and colours.' Colour is key for Leigh, he loves colour to blow the blues away. The play of light on a landscape is also a thrilling experience. Creativity is liberating and it allows him to play and experiment with colour, form, marks and composition. His painting style is eclectic and is arrived at my experience of the subject he is painting. He am inspired by the natural world, mainly from morning walks with Dean the dog or from working in the garden. He is really taken with the idea of our human need to have one foot in human civilisation and one foot in the nature where we live for survival. Leigh Glover was born in England and studied at Oxford Brookes University and Heatherley’s School of Fine Art, London. His work has been exhibited at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (2008), Royal Society of Portrait Painters (2009), Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize (2010), BP Portrait Award (2011) and the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition (2014). He was a heat participant in the television series Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year (ep.5, 2019).
