Path to the Bay is an original floral landscape painting by artist Jan Rogers. This painting features her signature dotting and stopping mark making techniques to create beautiful and expansive floral landscapes. Path to the Bay presents the explosion of colour in a floral meadow in its extreme, inspired by the beautiful colourful and vibrant meadows and verges that are springing up everywhere where I live. So many people have got on board with saving our bees that it’s turned our environment into a gorgeous and uplifting place to live. Colour is so important to me, it’s a source of great joy. This artwork has been inspired by my locality, my love of colour, pattern and the freedom to explore and express. Painted using gold standard acrylics onto a professional standard stretched canvas. Sealed with acrylic varnish to protect the surface.

Jan Rogers, artist, is available to buy online and in our gallery at Wychwood Art. Since discovering Kandinsky at a very early age I have been obsessed with vibrant colour and pattern. I later discovered William Morris and I knew I wanted to spend my life creating pattern, in particularly I was going to design wallpaper. After graduating from art college I set up my own business as a freelance surface pattern designer, selling to a worldwide market of home furnishing manufacturers. This was a wonderful and rewarding career until the industry began to change. As we now live in a digital world the requirement to create and manipulate design on a computer took away the joy and thrill of an ever changing journey that creating as you go allowed. I needed to break away and find a new way of creating, inventing and expressing the energy and passion designing once gave me. So since 2017 I have been painting, inspired by my love of flowers and the British landscape and seascapes it's the perfect way forward for me and wonderful to experiment with new mediums and subjects without restriction.
