Selworthy Ponies is a jigsaw/key block linocut printed in two stages. The ponies in the print are Exmoor ponies wild grazing on Selworthy Beacon in Somerset which lies within the boundaries of Exmoor National Park. It reflects a blustery wild day with big skies, intermittent rain and splashes of sun, typical English weather. Despite the big skies and windy day there was underneath it all an overwhelming sense of peace from the ponies, who are grazing today as their ancestors have for thousands of years. The inks used for this print are Aqua-Linoldruck Schmincke inks which have high lightfast properties. The paper is Daler-Rowney Canford paper 150gsm. As each print is inked and printed by hand there will be slight variations between each print, each one is in it’s own way an original.
