Meadow House is an original little watercolour landscape painting by Cathryn Jeff. Watercolour paint has been applied in an experimental way. The artist loves the ‘happy accidents’ that occur while applying the fluid paint, seeing how the colours merge and what marks are created during the process, therefore making a truly unique, one-off piece. The subject matter was inspired by the local Oxfordshire countryside where Cathryn lives, rolling fields with farmhouses and hedgerows. The simple palette of deep pink, ochre and grey will add a pop of colour to any space. This original artwork is set in a pure white mount subtly signed bottom right and titled on the left. Ready for your own choice of frame.

I love to create paintings inspired by the stunning Oxfordshire countryside where I live and seascapes from my travels. These are usually enhanced by my vivid imagination. Following A Level I continued to study art at Banbury in Oxfordshire and finally a degree at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design in Farnham, totalling six years of art training and many, many more years experimenting. I enjoy the experimental approach of trying out different mediums including ink, acrylic, oil and watercolour. The application of the paint is an exciting experience for me creating interesting marks such as splashes, dripping, masking, dry brushing and palette knife effects. Working in a spontaneous manner, I relish in the excitement of the unpredictable nature of the media I combine. In fact ‘happy accidents’ are a fundamental part of my practise and lead to each piece having its own individuality.
