Mountain Swell was derived from the very essence of the landscape and the way sometimes the horizon is undetectable and throws an element of mystery on to the scene. I wanted to create a sense of stillness and otherness to the painting and bring everything about the landscape into one space. The painting is oil on a deep edge canvas and comes unframed and ready to hang, it can be hung unframed or in a frame of your own choice.

I love being in nature and concentrate on using paint as a vehicle to convey the intimacy of my surroundings and the sense of belonging and affinity with landscape. The landscape drives me to capture atmosphere when I am in wild places and I use these feelings and experiences in a very loose and ephemeral way to create my own personal view of the landscape.
