For All Our Tomorrows is an original landscape painting by Helen Howells. For All Our Tomorrows was painted during our most recent lockdown. It is not of any particular place, however, it is an amalgamation of the many areas of the beautiful Welsh landscape which I love to explore. They exist only in my memories for now, and so this artwork encompasses my shared hope of a new tomorrow. Helen Howells is an artist living and working in the historic village of Caerleon in South Wales. Helen initially trained as a nurse, however following a career break whilst she raised her family, she took the decision not to return to nursing but to pursue her original ambition to become a fine artist. Upon completion of a Foundation Art course at the University of South Wales in Caerleon, in which she gained a distinction, Helen embarked upon establishing herself as an artist, focusing primarily on the dramatic Welsh seascapes and landscapes which she loves. Working predominantly in oil on canvas, she uses brush and palette knife marks to create rich textures which have been described as sensitive and expressive. Helen uses a semi abstract style to capture the essence of the image, drawing upon her experiences and deep emotional connection with the Welsh countryside. Her work focuses on the dynamic nature of light, and its interaction with the surrounding environment. The creation of each painting is an emotional journey in which Helen endeavours to engage the viewer to reach their own interpretation.
