I love iconic objects. Especially those that have played such an important role in our lives. This piece was created from an original photograph of the phone box opposite Charing Cross Road Station in London. The image is digitally coloured by hand and printed on reclaimed wooden planks with a urban steel edging to reflect its enduring past. I have recently bought the side of a vintage red phone box and I’m really looking forward to making some new art with it in the near future. I’ll call you when it’s finished. London Phone Box is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 2-3 weeks. Please note: each edition will have different patterns ingrained on the wooden planks.

Michael Wallner has original artworks for sale with Wychwood Art both in their art gallery and online. Michael has spent more than twenty years in the media industry working on entertainment programmes, talk shows, documentaries, animations and a children’s novel. But creating original and innovative art is his true passion. His latest work celebrates the beauty of the city through the shapes, outlines and colours that define its character. London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, Paris and Dubai all feature in Michael’s portfolio. The art is created by digitally manipulating and colouring his own photographs to produce unusual prints on aluminium, reclaimed wood, brass, even 1930’s copper-lite windows. He also creates neon, magnetic, and L.E.D installations. The metal pieces are printed on very thin sheets of brushed aluminium, giving the work an etched appearance. Michael works out of his studio at Wimbledon Art Studios in South London. Recent exhibitions include The Affordable Art Fair (Battersea, Hampstead, Singapore, New York, Milan), The Other Art Fair, and The Open Studios Show at Wimbledon Art Studios, amongst others.
