Please note that insitu images are purely an indication of how a piece may look

I am constantly looking for new and unusual angles for my work. This piece was created from an original photograph taken while dangling out of a helicopter with its doors off. I asked the pilot to hover as long as he was allowed, until the iconic red buses were spread evenly throughout the image. Printing the image on brushed aluminum gives the piece an etched appearance, highlighting the distinct patterns of the streets spreading out from Oxford Circus. The metallic finish contrasts with the bright red London buses and black cabs peppered throughout (digitally coloured by hand). And the thousands of people, looking like tiny ants, are represented by dabs of strong colours. London at its vibrant bustling best. Oxford Circus From Above is made to order. It can usually be made in around 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes it really easy to hang.

Michael Wallner has original artworks for sale with Wychwood Art both in their art gallery and online. Michael has spent more than twenty years in the media industry working on entertainment programmes, talk shows, documentaries, animations and a children’s novel. But creating original and innovative art is his true passion. His latest work celebrates the beauty of the city through the shapes, outlines and colours that define its character. London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, Paris and Dubai all feature in Michael’s portfolio. The art is created by digitally manipulating and colouring his own photographs to produce unusual prints on aluminium, reclaimed wood, brass, even 1930’s copper-lite windows. He also creates neon, magnetic, and L.E.D installations. The metal pieces are printed on very thin sheets of brushed aluminium, giving the work an etched appearance. Michael works out of his studio at Wimbledon Art Studios in South London. Recent exhibitions include The Affordable Art Fair (Battersea, Hampstead, Singapore, New York, Milan), The Other Art Fair, and The Open Studios Show at Wimbledon Art Studios, amongst others.
