A bluebell wood printed in an expressive, painterly style. I used 22 colours over 13 layers. Printed by hand in a very limited edition. Small variations make each individual piece truly original. Every print is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom and conservation mounted. This is a reduction linocut; a relief print formed with layers of colour which are cut and printed from the same block of lino. The block is destroyed in the process.

Inspired by countryside walks and the changes in weather and season upon the landscape, she enjoys capturing her favourite scenery as hand printed reduction linocuts. Reduction linocuts are multi-layered relief prints where every layer is cut and printed from the same block of lino, destroying the block as you progress. Alexandra's work is impressionistic in style; it is colourful, full of light, depth and detail. Themes include woodlands and trees, water and reflections, and flowers and fields.
