This hand made linocut print features three curlews flying over the fields by the coastal path near the village of Titchwell in Norfolk. The wayside plants Wild Carrot and Rapeseed and Plantains are depicted in the foreground. St Mary’s Church of Titchwell can be seen on the distant skyline. The ink colours are Latte and Prussian blue on soft white paper.

limited edition screen prints and linocuts on paper.

Kate studied at the Royal college of Art, graduating with an MA in
Textile Design in 1997. She then worked for a wide range of
fashion brands before setting up her own printmaking
studio in 2011.

Kate creates dynamic, vibrant, illustrative prints inspired by
her love of birds, flowers and nature of the landscapes of East Anglia.
Her work is handmade in her studio in Hertfordshire and regularly
exhibited across the UK.

Kate’s artworks and surface pattern designs have also been
used by many familiar Stationery and Homeware brands.
Her clients include, Museums & Galleries, The ART File,
Art Angels, Woodmansterne, Camden Graphics, Athena,
Rewrapped and John Lewis.

Recently Kate has completed several private commissions
and has had her work featured in a variety of books.

Kate Heiss is a textile designer and print-maker who has worked with a wide range of fashion brands including Fenchurch, Miss Selfridge and the Japanese fashion designer Michiko Koshino. Then in 2011 Kate set up her own printmaking studio. Her approach to design and printmaking stems from a love of florals, geometric patterns and bold colours often found in textiles. Much of her inspiration comes from the natural landscapes of East Anglia. Working in a variety of techniques to create her distinctive style, she describes her style as “Vibrant, illustrative and quirky.”
