Low Tide. Original oil painting on canvas, with wooden white frame, ready to hang. Seascape in a semi-abstract, expressive style. Open skies, with translucent shifts of light, combined with a heavily textured shoreline to enhance the reflective waters.

Laura Dunmow artist with Wychwood Art. Laura is a professional artist, living and working in Hertfordshire. She creates work that is both fresh and vibrant, capturing distinctive and unique visual experiences across a diverse range of subjects. Oil is her selective medium as she enjoys the flexibility of its’ slower pace, sometimes adding impasto or applied gold leaf onto the canvas to create depth and interest into a piece. Her passion is painting land and seascapes that embrace large skies capturing clouds across the seasons and with all of natures’ beauty. Her paintings explore open atmospheric vistas, pushing contrasting colour palettes with tonal blending that combine to enhance the essence of depth and drama. She is inspired by Turner’s brilliant use of light and colour, -applying these displines to her semi-abstract, contemporary interpretations. Her compositions are inspired by her travels both around the UK and further field, always focusing on where the land interacts with the skies, conveying the freedom and ‘spirit’ of a place, connecting you to a place and time. For over 25 years Laura ran a successful design company but 10 years ago returned back to her passion of painting. She retrained and honed her skills with short courses at the LARA school of representational art. Her studies there helped strengthen and focused her observation, drawing and painting technics. She now enjoys spending many happy hours in her studio at home, where she continues to strive for perfection, - always with the desire to experiment and produce works that create diverse opportunities for the next, new painting. ' She undertakes bespoke commissions to celebrate lifetime events or milestones, capturing moments that connect on a personal level. She sells work to private collectors through the UK.
